MEET OUR PRINCIPAL
"Life is about moments. Don't wait for them, KRE-8 them."
Kristy Ryan, the Principal of KRE-8, is a fully qualified member and ‘Fellow Examiner’ of the International Dance Teachers Association (I.D.T.A). She is qualified to the highest standard in all theatre work including Ballet, Tap, Gymnastics, Freestyle, Contemporary Modern-Jazz, Theatre Craft and Musical Theatre.
Miss Kristy has over 40 years of dance experience in a variety of genres, ranging from Ballet to Latin American. Dance has always been a major part of her life, having started her dance journey at the age of 3 at 'Carlton Dance Studios', later to become 'Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama'.
Miss Kristy studied and trained at MADD to gain her 3 year musical theatre diploma and associate level teaching qualifications in all theatre genres. She then spent several years dancing around the country in a variety of summer seasons, hair shows and pantomimes. A memorable moment of her career was choreographing for First Leisure Venues.
However, she discovered her true passion and love for teaching in between performance contracts as she covered classes. So she decided to complete her teaching qualifications; enhancing her own technique both as a teacher and dancer as she did so.
During her teaching career she has taught pupils from Preparatory to Advanced 2 Level in all genres. She was the head of MADD's prevocational school for over 5 years and also adjudicated at venues across the country for Freestyle Dance with the A.D.F.P.
Miss Kristy's great joy is to see her students flourish and spread the joy of dance. Whether that is through them simply enjoying weekly dance classes with her, gaining fantastic grades in examinations or her teaching acting as a stepping stone for students to gain scholarships, West End contracts, cruise ship contracts or even setting up dance schools of their own.
